Exterior
Originally the site of two small medieval farmhouses, by the late 1830s they had been demolished and an 'Indian Bungalow' erected for Major General Woodhouse before becoming the village's first brick house between 1839 and 1840. Alterations between 1873-75 by the architect Joseph Clark were the last major alterations to be made to Edells.
Garden
The garden, including the restoration of the Victorian ha-ha, has been developed over recent times under the guidance and supervision of Christopher Masson, a pupil of Lanning Roper who designed some of the gardens at Highgrove. See Edells through the seasons by clicking the button below.
Interior
Having been within the same family since 1849, Edells is full of curiosities. If you respond well to rustic, quirky and comfort then Edells could be just the place to relax as a group together. Edells now has a newly established accessible bedroom on the ground floor - the Garden Room. See recent guest reviews by clicking the button below.
